Great sunset yesterday evening
Pacific Ocean is calm and glass-like today.
Ship's position at 11:00 am today.
We are yellow arrow at bottom of screen. You can see our next ports, Cabo San Lucas (tomorrow), then San Diego (Tuesday), and then Los Angeles (Wednesday).
I have lost track of the days but by looking at our calendar, I see it is Saturday. The weather continues to be perfect out here in Pacific Ocean off the Mexican coast line. As you can see above, we had the best sunset last evening of the cruise so far. The temperature at noon is 80 F.
The production show last night, "Dancing in the Streets", was maybe the best we have ever seen. Greats songs and the singers and dancers were outstanding. Here are some of the Jean Ann Ryan cast members.
Alicia & Callum, dancers
Pasha & Anna, ballroom dance couple, from the Ukraine.
Caron, social hostess (not a dancer) on left, and Yvonne, dancer.
These female dancers are all 6 feet or better tall and early 20's. During the evening cocktail hour they go in couples to the various lounges to visit with the passengers. Later on in the cruise we will invite some of them to join us in Compass Rose restaurant for dinner. They can only dine there if invited and is a treat for them. Otherwise they have to dine in crew mess.
We moved our clocks back an hour last night so now we are on Mountain Time. I was up and in the gym by 7:00 am as wanted to work out prior to our normal room service breakfast. Thanks to the Costa and Carnival cruise ship disasters, it is international law that every 14 days the ship has to hold a compulsory life boat drill refresher. So we did that at 10:15 this morning. I discovered my life vest was defective so they delivered a new one to my suite shortly after the drill was over. Our sliding balcony door has been VERY hard to slide open so I asked someone come look at it. It has now been taken care of.
Lunch today will be chicken Ceasar salads from room service. Going to the buffet results in eating way too much food at lunch time. This evening we have another reservation at Prime 7, the steakhouse. There is a pre-dinner show at 6:00 pm with "The Perfect Gentlemen", and a show by the comedian, Dick Hardwick at 9:30 pm. Definitely not going to the comedian's show. Probably not going to the other one either.
We had a bit of excitement this morning. Well, not much for us. As I was working out early this morning I noticed the the ship had come to a stop. Later the Captain came on the PA system to say he had stopped to aid a fishing boat that had lost power and been adrift all day yesterday and all last night. Our engineering department folks got their engine started again. I'm certain they were very grateful for our ship's assistance. We were only delayed about an hour but the Captain says we will still be arriving in Cabo San Lucas on schedule at 8:00 am tomorrow.
This is our hard working stewardesses, Amirah and Yao.
