We docked early this morning in Los Angeles, California. We actually docked at a pier in San Pedro. It was 60 degrees early but now at 10:00 am it has warmed up nicely to 78F. This is the end of the first of two cruise segments we are doing. 500 passengers disembarked the ship to go home this morning while 157 of us are continuing on to Tahiti, the second segment. There will be 400 new passengers boarding this afternoon. The ship's capacity is 700 passengers but we will be sailing tonight with only 565. Over 50 crew members are ending their contract and heading home today also. Their replacements are already on board.
Normal routine for us so far today as had room service breakfast and worked out. We are expecting some friends we met on this ship in 2012 when we did our 72 day, "Circle South America" cruise. David & Marge live here in LA.
Also getting more provisions
This is a bomb sniffing dog checking everything that goes on our ship.
USS Iowa--WWII era battleship that is now a museum.
We don't sail until 8:00 pm tonight and will be at sea in Pacific Ocean for the next 5 days before arriving in the Hawaiian Islands on Tuesday, November 25th. At 5:15 pm we have another lifeboat safety drill for all new and old passengers alike. This evening we are dining in Prime 7 again. No show tonight, just movie.
